From Marrakech : 10-Days Grand Tour Exploring Morocco

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech – Welcome to Morocco

 Day 2: Marrakech Guided Tour – Transfer to Essaouira

After breakfast, start your day with a guided city tour of Marrakech. You will explore iconic landmarks such as:

• The Koutoubia Mosque

• The Bahia Palace

• The colorful souks and lively Jemaa el-Fna square

In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to the Atlantic coast and arrive in the charming city of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

 Day 3: Discover Essaouira – Return to Marrakech

Spend your morning exploring Essaouira’s relaxed seaside vibe. Walk along the historic Skala de la Kasbah, visit the old fishing port, and wander through the whitewashed medina. Don’t forget to check out local art galleries and try fresh seafood at the harbor. Later in the day, return to Marrakech and perhaps unwind with a traditional hammamexperience or shop for souvenirs in the Medina.

Day 4: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Skoura – Dades Gorges

Today, drive across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit the iconic Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continue through the Skoura oasis, known for its Kasbah Amridil, and arrive in the breathtaking Dades Gorges for an overnight stay.

 Day 5: Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, continue your journey toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, popular with rock climbers. Stop in Erfoud, a town known for its fossil workshops and date palms. By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll begin your camel trek, enjoy the sunset in the Sahara, and sleep in a desert camp beneath the stars.

 Day 6: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Berber Encounters

Wake up to a desert sunrise. Then, explore the Merzouga region:

• Visit Khamlia village for a live Gnawa music performance

• Discover Merzouga Lake (seasonal), known for flamingos

• Meet nomadic Berber families and learn about their traditions

Spend another magical evening at your camp or desert lodge.

Day 7: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez

Today, drive north through the palm-filled Ziz Valley. Stop in Midelt, a town surrounded by apple orchards and mountains. Then pass through the cedar forests of Ifrane, often called Little Switzerland, before arriving in the imperial city of Fez.

 Day 8: Cultural Tour of Fez – Ancient Medina & Crafts

Explore the winding streets of Fez el-Bali, one of the world’s largest medieval medinas. With your guide, visit:

• The University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest existing university

• The stunning Bou Inania Madrasa

Day 9: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, head to Meknes, where you can visit Bab Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then explore Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco. Finally, arrive in the enchanting Chefchaouen, known for its blue-painted streets and peaceful mountain setting.

 Day 10: Chefchaouen Exploration – End in Tangier

Enjoy a relaxed morning wandering the blue streets of Chefchaouen, visiting artisan shops and cafés. Later, drive through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Tangier, where your 10-day journey through Morocco comes to an end.
